Our Mission

The National American Medically Supportive Food Coalition (NAMFSC) advocates for equitable access to medically supportive foods, addressing food insecurity, chronic illnesses, and individuals experiencing transitional housing settings in underserved communities.

We continue to bridge gaps on access and support nationally, with the preparation and delivery of Medically Supportive Meal programs for ethnically diverse populations, and support to provider groups, working to build compliance with healthy nutritious eating and impacting favorable outcomes with the onset of chronic conditions. Our primary goal is to promote nutritious eating and reduce health disparities nationally and in CalAIM & Medi-Cal populations.

Our Goals

Cultural Sensitivity: Develop and provide culturally sensitive food solutions for diverse ethnic populations, including Native American and ethnic populations.

Provider Support: Offer business-to-business sourcing mechanisms, enabling medical meal providers to offer culturally sensitive food options.

Education: Raise awareness about the importance of medically supportive foods with the prevention and reversal of  chronic illnesses.

Advocacy: Champion medically supportive meal options as a key component of healthcare, influencing policy and legislation.

Community Engagement: Foster partnerships with stakeholders, community organizations, and healthcare providers to address a reduction in food insecurity and chronic illnesses for both eligible and ineligible populations.
